According to the international group Tasnim News Agency, the New York Times quoted two informed sources and reported that Donald Trump, the candidate of the Republican Party, recently had a telephone conversation with Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.

The New York Times wrote that it is not yet clear what the topic of the conversation between Trump and bin Salman was and whether this was the first interaction between the two sides after Trump’s departure from power or not. This conversation took place in the context that the administration of Joe Biden, the current president of the United States, is negotiating with the Saudis about what is called the “Middle East Peace Plan”. Meanwhile, the American media reported yesterday that Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor of the White House, has been postponed to Saudi Arabia. John Kirby, the spokesman of the National Security Council of the White House, said that the reason for the postponement of Sullivan’s trip to Saudi Arabia was his rib fracture.

Axios previously reported that Sullivan is in Saudi Arabia to meet with Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of this country, and consult with him about the agreement to normalize relations between Riyadh and Tel Aviv.

In the situation where the war in Gaza is still going on and only seven months to the US presidential elections. The rest of the White House officials admit that the chances of reaching an agreement regarding the normalization of relations between the two sides are small.
