The announcement of France’s readiness to hold the opening of the Olympics in the midst of terrorist threats

The President of France said: Despite the threat of terrorist attacks, this country is ready to hold the opening ceremony of the Olympics.

French President Emmanuel Macron said regarding the concerns raised about the security of the Olympic opening ceremony: “Unfortunately, France has been facing terrorist threats for several years. We know this; But after the terrorist attack in Moscow, we have increased the level of security to deal with threats. We are ready.”

According to Sputnik, Macron added that in case the situation changes and the threats increase, the French authorities have considered some alternative plans; But the priority of this country is still holding a parade ceremony by the river Seine.

Last week, a French radio station reported that the country’s security services had advised the athletes’ parade along the Seine River to be canceled due to the possibility of a terrorist attack. However, France’s foreign ministry later told RIA Novosti that the country’s security services had dismissed any concerns about the opening ceremony.

It should be said that after the terrorist attack in a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow, which left more than 140 dead, security measures have been increased in most countries of the world.

France, which has witnessed terrorist attacks before, has recently requested its foreign allies to send several thousand of their security forces to this country to keep Paris safe during the Summer Olympics.
