Russia summoned South Korea’s ambassador to Moscow
The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the country's ambassador in response to Seoul's new sanctions against Moscow. |
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced this Friday that Lee Do-hun summoned South Korea’s ambassador to Moscow after South Korea imposed sanctions on Russia.
Seoul earlier this week announced further sanctions against Russia, targeting two Russian ships, two organizations and two individuals suspected of links to Russia’s military trade with North Korea.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said the sanctions were “another unfriendly move by Seoul based on baseless accusations” and “cannot have a negative impact on bilateral relations.” He called on South Korea to abandon actions that “provoke further escalation of tensions on the Korean Peninsula”.
