Hamas: Mistreatment of Gaza prisoners shows Israel’s sadism

Hamas considered the systematic torture carried out by the occupying Israeli regime against prisoners as "a clear and dangerous violation of international humanitarian law."

Hamas announced that the reports of inhumane conditions in Sedi Timan Detention Center show the level of brutality and sadism of the Israeli regime against Palestinian prisoners.

According to Quds Press, the statement of this movement was published after an Israeli doctor in a field hospital in the Negev desert sent a letter to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, in which he described the deplorable conditions and violations of the rights of Palestinian prisoners. /p>

In a letter addressed to the ministers of war and health and the general prosecutor of the occupying regime, he said: This week, two prisoners lost their legs due to leg injuries, which is unfortunately a common occurrence in detention centers.

According to this Israeli doctor, Palestinian prisoners in this center are blindfolded, fed through straws, and defecate in unsanitary diapers.

Hamas said: The systematic torture carried out by the occupying regime of Israel against prisoners is “a clear and dangerous violation of international humanitarian law”.

The organization called on international human rights institutions, especially the International Committee of the Red Cross, to fulfill their responsibilities and take immediate measures to protect Palestinian prisoners from horrific violations.

Also, the international community and the United Nations have been asked to put pressure on Israel for the release of Palestinian prisoners and take measures to hold Israeli leaders accountable for their crimes.
