Iran’s letter to the Security Council about recent terrorist attacks

The text of Iran’s letter to the Security Council is as follows:

The present correspondence was prepared following the recent reprehensible and cowardly terrorist attack on the soil of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This horrible attack occurred only two days after the reprehensible and hateful terrorist attack by the Israeli regime on the diplomatic facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the capital of the Syrian Arab Republic. Finally, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, he carried out a series of coordinated terrorist attacks in the cities of Chabahar and Rask, located in the province of Sistan and Baluchistan. In order to disrupt peace and stability, the attackers targeted five important public places, military bases and security control centers and took a large number of civilians hostage. Iran’s security and law enforcement forces quickly and bravely thwarted their attempt to take control of the military and security centers in Chabahar and Rask. During the anti-terrorist operations of the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, all the hostages were successfully released. Unfortunately, these heinous acts of terrorism took the lives of ten brave police officers and security personnel who defended themselves in the way of Our nation sacrificed. Several others were injured in the line of duty. In addition, 44 civilians were injured in these attacks. Of these, 29 people have been treated and discharged, and 15 people are under medical care in Chabahar Hospital. It emphasizes its unwavering commitment to ensure the trial and accountability of those responsible.
 
Considering the long history of violent and terrorist acts of the terrorist group Jaish al-Adl, which is supported by some foreign countries, against civilians and innocent Iranian employees, the Islamic Republic of Iran asks the Security Council to strongly condemn these heinous acts of terrorism, and to take appropriate measures in line with its obligations to fight terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, which is with the resolute unity and position of the Security Council It is indicated in the press release dated December 16, 2023 (SC/15534).
