Russia’s warning to Armenia about the deception of the West

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia asked the leadership of Armenia not to be deceived by the promises of the West and to prevent this country from entering the wrong path that is full of security vacuum and serious problems in the economy.

According to Al-Mayadeen report, the Russian Foreign Ministry responded to the meeting held in Brussels on April 5 between Armenia, America and the European Union, and said: This meeting is a collective effort by the West to drag the South Caucasus into a confrontational geopolitics.

Russia noted: The amount of grants announced in Brussels cannot be compared with the billions of dollars that Armenia gets from cooperation with Moscow and the Eurasian Economic Union and the Commonwealth of Nations.

The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that in recent years, these factors have ensured a four-fold increase in the volume of trade since 2018. As a result, an unprecedented economic growth and increase in the welfare of the Armenian population have been registered.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced that Russia knows that the United States and the European Union are seeking the withdrawal of Armenia from the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as the withdrawal of the Russian military base and Russian border guards.

In this regard, Anthony Blinken, the US Secretary of State, said earlier that the country plans to give more than 65 million dollars to Armenia, which is 50% more than two years ago.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also said that her commission has pledged 270 million euros to help Armenia over four years.
