However, China’s peace plan has also faced criticism from the West, and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has claimed that since Beijing refrains from condemning Russia’s actions In Ukraine, he refused, and as a result, he lacks the necessary “credibility” to mediate. Joseph Burrell, the European Union’s foreign policy official, also emphasized that “the only thing that can be called a peace plan is Zelensky’s proposal.”

The President of Ukraine demanded that Russia withdraw from the territories that Kiev claims. Zelensky also demanded compensation from Russia and claimed that this country should be tried in international courts.
