Biden is not giving up on the 17,000-mile travel gaffe with Xi Jinping
In a program for the umpteenth time, the US president claimed that he traveled 17,000 miles with the Chinese president. |
In his recent speech, US President Joe Biden repeated his claim about a 17,000-mile trip with Chinese President Xi Jinping and also referred to his administration as O’Biden.
According to the report of Daily Mail, the 81-year-old American president was speaking at a ceremony in the White House on the occasion of Greek Independence Day, when he repeated his unrealistic gaffes.
Biden said: Xi Jinping once asked me to describe Greece, I had traveled with him 17,000 miles to the Tibetan Plateau.
Biden seems to like this claim because he has repeated it several times before. For this reason, he received the nickname “Pinocchio without borders” from the Washington Post. The Washington Post describes this nickname as the repetition of false or misleading statements that become a form of propaganda.
The White House has never confirmed the 17,000 mile number. Because if the total distance traveled by Biden in his trips with Shi, whether in a plane or a car, it will be much less than 17,000.
The blunders are the latest in a string of embarrassments for the president, who recently forced him to disavow the credibility of a scathing Justice Department report that concluded Biden suffered from impaired memory function.
