UNICEF: Gaza children need a ceasefire

The executive director of the United Nations Children's Fund called for a ceasefire while re-announcing the number of child martyrs in Gaza, which has exceeded 13,000.

Catherine Russell, Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), wrote on X social network that according to reports, more than 13,000 children have been martyred in the Gaza war.

According to Al Jazeera, he continued to write: “Houses, schools and hospitals have turned into ruins. Teachers and doctors have been killed. Famine is near and the level and speed of destruction is shocking”.

He wrote at the end of his note: “The children of Gaza need a ceasefire now.”

UNICEF has previously announced that one in three children under the age of two in Gaza is malnourished due to the continued blockade and the prevention of humanitarian aid.

The war in Gaza will enter its sixth month tomorrow, despite the fact that so far more than 33,000 Palestinians have been martyred and more than 75 people have been injured due to the attacks of the Zionist regime.

It is said that a delegation from Hamas will leave for Cairo tomorrow to negotiate a ceasefire in this besieged area.
