Zelensky’s warning about the imminent depletion of Ukraine’s missile stockpile

Ukraine's president announced a shortage of air defense systems and said he would agree to "any option" that would help the country.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned in a statement broadcast today (Saturday) that if Russia continues its long-range bombing, Ukraine may run out of air defense missiles.

According to Reuters, this is the most severe warning of the president of Ukraine about the deterioration of his country’s air defense.

“If they attack Ukraine every day like last month, we may run out of missiles,” Zelenskiy said in an interview broadcast on Ukrainian television. He specifically mentioned Patriot air defense systems and said that Ukraine needs 25 units.

The President of Ukraine also mentioned the aid package that has been deadlocked in the Congress for months and said that he still hopes that this package will be approved. He also said that Ukraine will agree to “any option” regarding the possibility that the above aid may be in the form of a “loan”.

Ukraine’s largest private electricity company says that recent Russian attacks have hit 80% of its production capacity and the company has been forced to shut down in some areas.

Ukraine has faced a severe shortage of ammunition and military equipment in recent months. The White House has warned that the delay in approving aid to Ukraine could cost the country its territory.
