Heavy rain and flooding of rivers on Sunday caused flooding in parts of Kazakhstan.
In response to the flooding, officials in Kazakhstan evacuated and relocated more than 63,000 people from their homes.
The head of the relief department in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan announced in a press conference that approximately 3,400 houses were submerged in the flooded areas. A state of emergency has been declared in ten regions due to the flood.
The breaking of the dam in the Orsk region of Russia yesterday caused the forced evacuation of thousands of homes. So far, the bodies of three people have been found in Orsk during patrolling in the flood area. The press service of the region announced on Saturday that more than 2,500 houses in this region and neighboring regions were flooded after the dam broke in Orsk region.
The Ministry of Emergencies of Russia reported early on Saturday that only in the Orsk region, about 600 houses were flooded.
The melting of the ice caused the water level of the Ural River to rise to a dangerous point, and a state of emergency was declared throughout the region on Friday. The broken dam protects the area from the Ural River.
