Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, at the Safa Palace and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to the online report of Al-Khalij, the two sides discussed the developments in the regional and international situation, the historical relations of the two countries, the dimensions of bilateral cooperation and the ways of its development in different fields.
In this regard, on March 19, Bin Salman met with Lt. Gen. Asim Munir, the commander of the Pakistani army, in Riyadh, where aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries in military fields were discussed. Four days after that meeting on March 23, Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman arrived in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on an official visit, during which relations between the two countries and regional and international issues were discussed.
Relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have seen significant progress in various fields over the past few years and have been upgraded to the level of strategic partnership, especially in military and security fields.
The latest cooperation between the two sides was the participation of a force from the Saudi Ground Force in a joint training program that began at the end of last January and lasted for 45 days with the Pakistan Army, with the aim of improving tactical skills, exchanging valuable experiences and strengthening military cooperation.
