Request of Riyadh and Islamabad to stop the war in Gaza
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan called for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. |
The Zionist regime’s six-month war against the defenseless people of Gaza with the genocide of 33 thousand civilians has angered Islamic countries. Calling for an end to this genocide is part of the international efforts to support the Palestinians.
According to Al Jazeera, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan issued a joint statement demanding the establishment of a permanent ceasefire in Gaza based on the UN Security Council resolution.
This joint statement was issued by the two countries after the meeting of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Mecca.
This statement states: Riyadh and Islamabad call for international efforts to stop Israel’s military operations in Gaza. Also, the international community should put pressure on Tel Aviv to remove the obstacles in the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza and oblige Israel to adhere to international laws and stop hostilities.
This statement emphasizes: Now the Palestinians need a peace mechanism according to the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the initiative of the Arab League. The purpose of this is to find a fair and comprehensive solution for the formation of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia do not have official diplomatic relations with the Zionist regime, and during the last round of negotiations with the mediation of the Americans for the recognition of Israel, Riyadh had made this conditional on clarifying the path to the formation of an independent Palestinian state.
