Burrell: The Houthis do not take orders from Iran

Referring to the operations of the Yemeni army in the Red Sea, the European Union foreign policy official said that they act independently and are not controlled by Iran in their decisions.
“Joseph Burrell”, the European Union’s foreign policy official, referring to the independence of Yemen’s Ansarullah, said that the decision-making process in this resistance movement in the region is not under Iran’s control.
He said in a press conference in Brussels: “We want to maintain our communication channels with Iran and we have asked Iran to show restraint and use its influence to avoid tension; Especially in connection with the Houthis (Ansarullah). But I don’t think Iran has full control over the decisions of the Houthis, they have become almost independent.”

In March, the media claimed that Washington asked Iran to do something to stop the operations of the Yemeni army in the Red Sea; A claim that “John Kirby”, the National Security Communications Advisor of the White House, denied.

Since the beginning of the Gaza war and the Zionist regime’s attack on this barricade, Yemen’s Ansarullah has announced that it will target all ships that are somehow related to the Zionist regime or travel to the occupied territories. In response to Yemen’s support for the Palestinians in Gaza, America created a naval coalition with its allies, including the UK, to counter these attacks.
