6 months of war in Gaza, the lives and property of Palestinians under the bombardment of the Zionists
As the war in Gaza entered its seventh month, Al Jazeera news agency announced the amount of Palestinian casualties and financial loss in a report. |
The Al Jazeera website presented figures that show the extent of the devastation inflicted on Gaza as a result of the war and genocide that the Zionist regime has waged against the besieged Strip for the seventh month in a row.
Meanwhile, the number of Palestinian martyrs has exceeded 33,000, and thousands of people are still missing under the rubble, because no one could find their bodies. According to this website, children and women constitute the largest number of martyrs and the figures show that more than 13,800 children have been martyred in the daily crimes of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip.
The United Nations Children’s Fund, known as UNICEF, estimates that 17,000 Palestinian children are now separated from their parents. The number of injured has exceeded 75,815, and the Palestinian Red Crescent says around 1,000 children have lost one or both legs.
Bombing and starvation
Due to the continued bombing and siege that was imposed on the Gaza Strip from all sides, famine struck the residents of this strip, especially in the north. According to a report published on the Al Jazeera website, about 2.2 million people in Gaza are facing famine. Al Jazeera added: Many babies and children, especially in northern Gaza, have died due to drought and malnutrition, while Israel continues to prevent aid teams from arriving.
Last week, the Zionist regime killed 7 foreigners who were part of the World Central Kitchen team who were on humanitarian missions, causing a global uproar against the occupying forces.
Israel also forced 80 percent of Gaza’s population to migrate south, meaning about 1.9 million people live in schools and hospitals. About 1.5 million displaced people have gathered in the city of Rafah near Egypt, and this regime announces that it will attack this city every day. This is while there are international warnings about this attack.
Systematic destruction
Al Jazeera reported that about 62 percent of the buildings in Gaza were destroyed by the bombing, which is equivalent to 290,820 houses. The World Bank and the United Nations estimate the damage to Gaza’s infrastructure at $18.5 billion, as the bombing left 26 million tons of debris. But the worst damage was in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, where Israeli ground and air strikes destroyed thousands of homes and infrastructure. The Zionists also destroyed 8 out of 10 schools and made more than 325,000 students unable to enter school.
On the other hand, the occupying army focused on destroying hospitals and health centers protected by international laws and claimed that Hamas uses them as a headquarters to coordinate its operations. Published figures show that 10 out of 36 hospitals are still in service, but due to the large number of victims and the lack of human and medical capabilities, they are not able to provide services to everyone.
Targeting journalists
After two weeks of complete siege, the Zionist regime completely destroyed Al-Shafa Medical Complex and executed 400 civilians including doctors and health personnel inside it. Health centers suffer from a major shortage of equipment and medicine, which increases the number of martyrs due to the continued bombings, destruction, outbreak of diseases, famine and blocking of access to necessary aid.
According to Gazan government sources, the war in Gaza is the bloodiest war in modern history for the news community. The Committee to Protect Journalists says that the number of martyrs has reached 90 journalists, but the media reports that the number of martyrs is around 140 journalists.
