Russia: Ukraine joining NATO is not acceptable

The Russian ambassador to America announced that Moscow will not accept Ukraine's joining a hostile alliance under any circumstances.

Anatoly Antonov, Russia’s ambassador to Washington, stated that Ukraine’s accession to NATO is unacceptable for Moscow, noting that Moscow will never accept Kiev’s entry into a hostile bloc.
According to the Sputnik report, Antonov said in a statement published by the Russian diplomatic mission: Ukraine’s accession to NATO is not acceptable to us under any circumstances. This is a threat to Russia’s national security. Only politicians who absolutely do not understand Russia’s fundamental positions can expect us to accept Kiev’s participation in the hostile bloc.
