Wall Street Journal: American drones showed poor performance in the Ukraine war

The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. drones in Ukraine have not performed well in the war and have proven to be too expensive.

The Wall Street Journal quoted Skydio drone factory manager Adam Berry as saying: The main problem with any type of US drones in Ukraine is that they don’t work as well as other systems. UAVs manufactured by our company do not perform very successfully in Ukraine and on the front line of the war.

The newspaper also wrote: Ukrainian authorities consider the UAVs supplied by the United States to be fragile and unable to overcome Russian jamming and G-silencing technology. P. They know.

At times even these drones could not take off, fly the stated distances or carry significant payloads, the newspaper added.

Nikolay Belskov, from a charity that has provided hundreds of drones to the Ukrainian military, told the Wall Street Journal that small American drones have been underdeveloped.

Georgi Dubinsky, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, also said: What is flying and operating today, cannot fly tomorrow.

According to him, Ukraine, which needs about 10,000 drones per month, is looking for cost-effective solutions, because American drones are expensive.

American drone manufacturers say they did not expect “electronic warfare” in Ukraine.

The Wall Street Journal also explained that many of the UAVs made by U.S. companies were designed in 2019, and multiple U.S. restrictions on UAV parts and testing limit what they can build and how fast they can do it. Do. In particular, the US ban on Chinese parts has made it more difficult to build small drones.
