Grossi: Attacks on Zaporizhia may bring the war to a dangerous stage

Rafael Grossi, head of the Atomic Energy Organization, told the Council of Governors that the drone attacks on the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine must be stopped, because it may lead to a “new stage” of the war. and dangerous.

According to Reuters, Grossi asked the Council of Governors to unanimously prevent an accident at the power plant and noted that he will have a meeting with the Security Council next week.

Yesterday, the media announced that the Board of Governors is going to convene an emergency meeting at the request of Russia and Ukraine regarding the recent attacks on the Zaporizhia power plant.

Russia announced on April 9 that Ukraine attacked this power plant with drones for the third consecutive day. Ukraine denied responsibility for the attack and instead claimed that Moscow was behind the attacks.

Grossi previously described the attack on Zaporizhia as “playing with fire” and said that this “irresponsible and dangerous” action must be stopped.

Zaporizhia power plant is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. This power plant is currently out of the control of the Ukrainian government and is under the control of Russian forces.
