Successful launch of Chinese satellite

The China National Space Administration (CNSA) announced today that the "Kueqiao-2" satellite has recently successfully passed in-orbit communication tests.

According to CGTN news agency, the China National Space Agency announced the “Kueqiao-2” mission and said: “Kueqiao-2″‘s functions and performance meet the mission requirements and can provide relay communication services for the fourth phase of the lunar exploration project. China and the future exploration missions of China and other countries.

“Kueqiao-2” satellite was launched on March 20th (April 1st) and entered its target orbit on April 2nd (April 14th).

This satellite successfully passed the communication test with the Chang’e-4 satellite on April 6 (16 April) and is now conducting an exploratory mission on the surface of the moon. On April 8-9 (20-21 April), this satellite conducted communication tests with the Chang’e-6 probe.

These 2 satellites, together with the “Tiandu-1” and “Tiandu-2” satellites, have entered the desired orbit and have been subjected to a series of communication technology and maneuverability tests.

“Kueqiao-2” is designed to transmit signals from Earth to equipment on the far side of the moon’s surface as part of the Chang’e 6 mission, which will be launched in May to collect samples and return them to Earth.

But the complexity and weaker signals associated with the lunar orbit of “Kueqiao-2” require extensive experiments.

The 2 Tiandu satellites are used to test and verify the design of the Kueqiao constellation for lunar communications, navigation and remote sensing, providing valuable viewing angles and basic data for network development.
