France recalled its ambassador from the Republic of Azerbaijan

According to the international group Tasnim news agency, the French Foreign Ministry announced in a statement that the country’s ambassador called on the Republic of Azerbaijan and today he met with Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace.

According to the website of Russia Elium, it is stated in this statement: “In this meeting, Macron discussed the measures taken by the Republic of Azerbaijan to harm the relations Both sides have expressed regret and said that it is hoped that Baku will clarify its goals from its actions against bilateral relations.” The French Foreign Ministry added: “France once again supports the normalization of relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia emphasizes within the framework of respect for international laws and the territorial integrity of the two countries, this peace will benefit the two countries and the entire region”. Accused of supporting Armenia in the regional dispute between Yerevan and Baku over the Karabakh region, relations between the two countries have become strained. Also, in recent months, the two countries have expelled some of each other’s diplomats.
