Kirby: America and Israel are talking about Rafah

The White House says that the United States and the Zionist regime are discussing a possible attack by the regime on the city of Rafah in southern Gaza.

“American and Israeli officials are holding a virtual meeting to discuss the possible Israeli military attack on the southern Gaza city of Rafah and Washington’s opposition to it,” said John Kirby, spokesman and coordinator of strategic communications for the White House National Security Council. ».

While accompanying Joe Biden on a trip to the city of Philadelphia, he added on the US President’s plane that he did not want to provide more information about the meeting that is still being held. He said that American officials will publish a report after the end of this meeting.

Kirby explained: “The main goal is really to talk about Rafah and share America’s concerns about a major ground attack on this city.”

Earlier, Benny Gantz, the former war minister and member of the current war cabinet of the Zionist regime, claimed that Tel Aviv is planning a ground attack on Rafah. He said: “The war against Hamas continues and the forces of the Israeli army are fighting in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon at the same time.” This Zionist official further claimed that this regime intends to return to Khan Yunis and that the plan to attack Rafah remains in force.

UN Spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in response to Israel’s announcement of an agreement for the Israeli army to attack the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip: a ground attack on Rafah will have disastrous humanitarian consequences.
