Von Derlein called for restraint in the Middle East

Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, called on Israel and Iran on Friday to refrain from further escalation of the conflict.

Von Derlein said during a press conference with Finnish Prime Minister Petri Orpo: “It is absolutely essential that the [West Asia] region remains stable and that all parties refrain from further action.”

Von der Leyen’s statements were made after relatively loud noises were heard in the city of Isfahan.
