Joseph Borrell, the head of the foreign policy of the European Union, condemned the violence of Zionist settlers in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, and emphasized the need to hold the perpetrators accountable.
According to Arti’s report, Burrell wrote in a post on Platform X that the European Union decided to sanction settlements in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem due to serious human rights violations against Palestinians.
He claimed: We strongly condemn the violence of extremist settlers and the perpetrators must be held accountable.
On Friday, the European Union sanctioned 4 Zionist settlements and 2 Zionist groups due to violent crimes against Palestinians in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.
The Council of the European Union announced: the individuals and entities subject to these sanctions are responsible for serious violations of human rights against the Palestinians.
This council explained in a statement that these violations include torture and other forms of cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, as well as violations of the right to property and the right to private and family life of Palestinians in the West Bank.
This European organization announced: Sanctions include freezing assets and banning visas.
On the other hand, on Friday, the US Department of Treasury claimed to have imposed sanctions against two entities that it said helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for two colonists in the West Bank.
This is while the American media reported that the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken does not pay attention to the requests of his ministry staff to punish the Israeli police forces who have been proven to have committed murder and rape in the West Bank.
In this regard, the United Nations expressed its concern about the escalation of violence in the West Bank and asked the security forces of the Zionist regime to immediately stop their active participation and support in the settlers’ attacks on the Palestinians.
