Hamas may move its headquarters from Qatar

Some media reported that the political office of Hamas is considering a possible change of its headquarters from Qatar to another country.

The Wall Street Journal reported, citing Arab officials, that the political leadership of Hamas is considering whether to move its headquarters from Qatar.

These officials explained that Hamas has already contacted two countries in the region to ask them if they accept the group’s political leadership.

An Arab official clarified that one of the countries in question was Oman. Hamas is seeking relocation because it believes the ceasefire talks will take some time, which could affect its relations with Qatar.

An Arab mediator told the Wall Street Journal: “The talks have stalled again, and there is hardly any sign or prospect of them resuming soon, and mistrust between Hamas and the negotiators is growing.”

For months, Qatar has played the role of a mediator in the peace talks between Hamas and the Zionist regime to reach a permanent ceasefire and exchange of prisoners. However, Israel and its Western allies, especially American officials, are making harsh comments against the country for not putting pressure on Hamas.
