Talal bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Assistant Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia, discussed with a number of Pakistani officials various aspects of cooperation in the field of defense between Riyadh and Islamabad.
According to Al-Khalij Online, based on what the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced on Friday, this meeting took place during the official visit of Talal bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi to Pakistan, during which he met with a number of Pakistani officials.
Al-Otaibi met with Pakistan Army Commander Asim Munir, Sahar Shamshad Chief of Joint Staff and Mohammad Owais Dastgir, Chief of Staff of Pakistan Army. In this meeting, bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan were discussed.
A meeting of the joint committee of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan was held, during which aspects of cooperation in the field of defense, technology transfer and localization, and defense research and development were discussed and reviewed in line with Riyadh’s 2030 vision.
In this meeting, a number of topics of common interest were discussed and exchanged.
In the past few years, Saudi-Pakistan relations have seen significant progress in various fields and have been upgraded to the level of strategic partnership, especially in the military and security fields.
The latest cooperation between the two sides was the participation of a force of the Saudi ground forces in a joint training program that began at the end of last January and was carried out for 45 days with the Pakistani army, with the aim of improving tactical skills and exchanging valuable experiences.
