Armenia agreed to return 4 villages to the Republic of Azerbaijan

After about three decades, Armenia agreed to return four occupied villages during the first Nagorno-Karabakh war to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

This meeting was held with the presence of Shahin Mustafayev and Maher Gregorian, the Deputy Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, respectively.

According to the statement published by Baku, the border commissions on specific issues including the return of Baghanis Ayrim villages “, “Ashaghi Skipara”, “Hirimeli” and “Kizil Khajili”, which Armenia occupied in the First Karabakh War, agreed to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

It was also decided to prepare the coordinates of the border line in Tavush region, taking into account geodetic measurements (knowledge of measuring the size and shape of the earth) and to the protocol by May 25 to be converted and signed. During this meeting, the parties also agreed to prepare the draft regulations on the joint activity of the commissions by July 1st.
