The New York police announced that the man who set himself on fire yesterday in front of Donald Trump’s court, the former US president, and whose condition was declared “critical”, died of serious injuries.
According to CBS, on Friday, a man named “Max Azzarello” from the state of Florida set himself on fire in front of the court where Trump was being tried on charges of paying hush money.
During this incident, Azzarello threw unknown papers into the air, dipped his clothes in flammable alcohol cleaners and then set himself on fire.
Police previously said he was known as a conspiracy theorist.
Trump is the first former president of the United States to have criminal cases. In recent days, he has been on trial in New York due to the case of payment of silence fees.
Many police officers were at the scene on Friday as part of extensive security precautions to ensure the safety of the court. Journalists from all over the world were also waiting outside the court, and some of them showed Azzarello’s self-immolation live on air.
Following the incident, authorities announced that they are reviewing security protocols and are considering closing access to the park where Azzarello set himself on fire.
