Also, Recep Tayyip Erdogan considered the issue of water, gas and oil important regarding his visit to Iraq.

Taher al-Jubouri, a member of the Agriculture Commission of the Iraqi Parliament, in reference to the visit of the Turkish delegation, considers the possibility of signing a water protocol between the two countries strong.

He said in an interview with Baghdad Al-Youm news website: “Economy and water will be the two main issues of this trip. Erdogan sees the “development road” as a factor to revive the Turkish economy. “Baghdad is actively seeking to sign a comprehensive protocol on the water issue, which will guarantee Iraq’s right to equitably supply the waters of the Tigris and Euphrates.”
