Türkiye denied intercepting Iranian missiles
Turkey's center for combating false information, while publishing a statement, emphasized that it did not help Israel in intercepting Iranian missiles. |
On Sunday, Ankara denied using its radars to intercept missiles launched by Iran towards the occupied territories on April 14.
According to Al-Mayadin report, Turkey’s center for combating false information, affiliated with the country’s presidential communications department, announced in a statement on Saturday evening that the claims do not reflect reality.
It is mentioned in this statement that the allegations regarding the radar base in Kuracik, which were made following the meeting of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of Hamas, were previously made by the center’s officials. Counter disinformation was denied.
Furthermore, it is also emphasized that these allegations are baseless and have been deliberately re-introduced for publication.
In this statement, it is stated: Information obtained from the radar system in Korachik is not shared except with allies within the framework of NATO procedures. It is not possible to share this information with countries that are not allies in NATO, such as Israel.
This statement adds: Turkey always stands by the just cause of its Palestinian brothers and will continue to do so in any situation and emphasizes the need not to pay attention to false information campaigns.
On April 13, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Force announced targeting the occupied Palestinian territories with hundreds of missiles and drones in order to punish the crimes of the Zionist regime, including the attack on the consular section of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy in Damascus and the martyrdom of a number of Iranian advisers.
