Pakistani media reported on Sunday that on the occasion of Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, visiting the city of Karachi on Tuesday, this city will be closed.

According to “Sama TV” news channel, government departments, companies and educational institutions will be closed on the mentioned date.

Raisi’s itinerary includes a visit to Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. In addition, it has been reported that the President of Pakistan will host a dinner in honor of the President of Iran. Raisi’s visit is expected to strengthen Iran-Pakistan relations and strengthen cooperation in various fields, including trade, security and cultural exchanges. Considering that Karachi is an important economic and cultural hub in the region, the official holiday emphasizes the importance of this diplomatic trip and its impact on the affairs of the city.

Tight security measures are expected to be in place across Karachi during the Iranian president’s visit. On the eve of Ayatollah Raisi’s visit to Pakistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country announced in a statement that this will be the first visit of a foreign head of state to Pakistan after the elections on February 8. The president of Iran will be accompanied by a high-ranking delegation consisting of the minister of foreign affairs and other cabinet members, senior officials and a large business delegation. It is stated in this statement that Raeesi will meet Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, Senate President Yusuf Raza Gilani and Parliament Speaker Ayaz Siddique.
