Schultz: The agreement between Baku and Yerevan is close

report Mehr News Agency quoted by Reuters, German Chancellor Olaf Schultz announced on Friday: the chance of a peaceful settlement of the conflict between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia is now more than ever.
Shultz, in a joint press conference with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, said: Of course, first of all, we talked about the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. And we agree that this conflict should be resolved peacefully.
The Prime Minister of Germany said to Aliyev: Therefore, it is better that you have a direct dialogue with Nikol Pashinyan [Prime Minister of Armenia].
Shultz added: 2024 can and should be the year of peace in the region. This is an opportunity and a great responsibility.
The German Prime Minister described the recent reports about the initial agreement on the delimitation of the border between the two countries as encouraging and said that it is necessary to maintain this process.
