The regional deputy of the Ministry of Interior of Russia announced in a statement: Two police officers dispatched from Kurgan region were killed. Two officers of the traffic department, as well as a member of the regional national guard and an officer from Kurgan region were also injured. Also, five attackers were killed at the scene of the incident.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Interior of Russia, the attackers stopped in front of a temporary traffic police station and then threw an explosive device at the police forces and continued with weapons. They opened fire on the officers automatically.
According to sources, several explosive devices were found at the scene of the incident. An investigation has been launched into this attack. According to investigators, there is a possibility that this attack is related to the April 22 attack on police forces in the city of Karachayivsk.
