report Mehr News Agency, the Washington Post newspaper quoted a senior official of the Turkish government as saying that Turkey has told its NATO allies that Ankara has rejected the nomination of Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte for the post of NATO Secretary General. supports.

This senior official of the Turkish government, who did not want to be named, added that Ankara informed the diplomats of its NATO allies about this on Monday.

This decision of the Turkish government was taken three days after Rutte’s visit to Turkey, the purpose of which was to gain the support of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Jens Stoltenberg, the current Secretary General of NATO and the former Prime Minister of Norway, who held the top civilian post of NATO since 2014, is nearing the end of his term.
