reported by Mehr News Agency Citing the Guardian, “Humza Yousaf” (Humza Yousaf), the First Minister of Scotland, announced on Monday through a televised speech that he has resigned from his position.
The First Minister of Scotland said in this regard: I am not ready to trade my values and principles or trade with someone just to maintain power.
In the continuation of this televised speech, he added that he still thinks that this is the right decision for his party and his country.
“Hamze Youssef” further added that he hopes to continue working with the greens of Scotland in a more informal way.
Scotland’s First Minister said that while a path to succeeding in the confidence vote was possible, he was not willing to compromise his principles.
Youssef added that he will remain in his position until the new prime minister takes office.
Humza Haroon Yousaf is a Scottish politician who served as the leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) and the First Minister of Scotland since March 2023.
