According to the international group Tasnim news agency, the House of Representatives And the State Senate in Hawaii, by passing a resolution, asked the US President Joe Biden’s government to establish a ceasefire in Gaza. Hawaii is the first state in America that has passed such a resolution.
Earlier in March, the Hawaii Senate passed this resolution with 24 votes in favor and one vote against. had approved The House of Representatives approved this resolution on Friday with 48 votes in favor and 3 votes against. Although Hawaii is the first state to pass such a resolution, the “Public Access Chamber” of the Hawaii State Congress told The Huffington Post that it does not have the power to implement this law and that the resolution does not require the signature of the governor.
According to Yahoo News, state lawmakers have demanded that Joe Biden work to establish an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. In addition, the said resolution demanded that the Biden government should make efforts to end hostilities and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
