Putin sworn in as president/Resignation of the Russian government

He said: “While exercising the powers of the President of the Russian Federation, I swear to respect and protect the rights and freedoms of people and citizens of Russia, to respect and defend the Constitution, and to protect the sovereignty, independence, security and integrity of the country. I will support and serve honestly for the welfare of the Russian people.”

After taking the oath, Putin officially began his new presidential term. After that, the Russian national anthem was played in the hall.

Putin emphasized that the Russian people will always determine the country’s destiny by themselves and added: “We are a united and great people and we will all win together.”

Vladimir Putin also promised to continue to strive for a multipolar world order. He emphasized: “We will continue to work together with our partners in the Eurasian convergence, with other independent development centers, to form a multipolar world order, an equal and indivisible security system.”

The president added that in a rapidly changing world, it should be self-sufficient and competitive in order to open new horizons for Russia. He continued that the country’s government and political system must be strong and completely resistant to any challenge and threat.

The Russian government resigned

The Russian government also resigned on Tuesday after the inauguration of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Cabinet of Ministers announced in a statement: “Following the legal norms and the federal constitution, the government hands over its powers to the newly elected president of Russia.” An order has been signed in this regard.”

It is recalled that the process of forming a new government begins with the appointment of the head of the cabinet. A decree in this regard will be signed by the president after the State Duma approves the candidate’s nomination. Within a week of his appointment, the head of state will submit proposals to the president on the structure of federal executive bodies. At the same time, former cabinet ministers and deputy prime ministers will continue to perform their duties as temporary administrators.

Vladimir Putin won 87.28 percent of the votes in the presidential election. The Russian Republic won. The main voting was held across Russia over three days – from March 15 to 17. The total participation of the Russian people in this election was 77.44%, which according to the information of the Central Election Commission, this figure is a record in the modern history of the country.
