Iran’s active role in promoting international peace and security

According to Tasnim News Agency, the full text of Iran’s letter is as follows:

The present correspondence was prepared in response to the letter dated April 19, 2024 from the representative of the Israeli regime in the United Nations. In this letter, the representative of the Israeli regime once again falsely made baseless accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran by resorting to false information. In addition to the previous correspondence of the Islamic Republic of Iran that was sent on April 13 and 30, 2024 (S/2024/305-S/2024/349), I would like to emphasize the following:
 
1. The Republic Islamic Iran categorically rejects all the baseless accusations contained in the said letter. Contrary to such baseless claims, the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently observed international law, adhered to the principles of the United Nations Charter, and followed the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. In addition, the Islamic Republic of Iran has played an active role in promoting international peace and security through its constructive participation in various fields. April 2024 (S/2024/305-S/2024/349), clearly stated that the action of April 13, 2024 was directly and officially by Iran in response to repeated military aggression by the Israeli regime, especially the military attack by this regime on April 1, 2024. It has been carried out against the diplomatic places of my country in Damascus, the capital of the Syrian Arab Republic. The action of the Islamic Republic of Iran was necessary, legitimate and completely in line with its inherent right to defend itself under the United Nations Charter. This action targeted only military targets and was carried out carefully and with prior notice to avoid harming civilians. I would like to emphasize that none of the resistance groups were involved in the legitimate action of the Islamic Republic of Iran and any claim in this regard is rejected. 3. Contrary to the claim of the Israeli regime, the Islamic Republic of Iran does not have proxy forces in the region. ; No individual, group or nation operates under the orders of Iran. Furthermore, resistance groups are not proxies. These groups are legitimate and legal groups and only deal with the occupation and aggression of the Israeli regime in Gaza, other occupied Palestinian territories, and also against the occupying forces in other countries of the region. Therefore, the attempt of the Israeli regime to label them as “proxy” groups is only to hide and justify its aggressive and destabilizing actions in the region.
 
4. It cannot be denied the fact that the Israeli regime Such a long record of blatant violation of international laws, the United Nations Charter and the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council is still considered the most important threat to international peace and security. Any desperate attempt by this regime to cover up this fact through false information, circulating or making baseless accusations against others is futile and baseless. The Israeli regime cannot deny its direct and full responsibility for the ongoing massacre and human disaster in Gaza, which are all against the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. A clear example of the Israeli regime’s continuous disregard for the UN Security Council resolutions is Security Council Resolution 2728 (2024), which calls for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Despite the explicit requests of the Security Council, this occupying regime continues its brutal war. It continues against the Palestinian people and its military attacks in Rafah and openly and humiliatingly ignores the demands of the Security Council. The Security Council should deal with the destabilizing and irresponsible actions of the Israeli regime as well as the crimes of this regime against the Palestinian people and other nations of the region; These actions are a real threat to regional and international peace and security and require the immediate attention and decisive action of the Security Council. I strongly condemn and reject the high-ranking officials of Iran during the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on May 1, 2024 regarding the review of the decision of the United States of America regarding the veto of the draft resolution of the Security Council regarding the full membership of the State of Palestine in the United Nations.

The aim of such baseless claims, hateful words, and blaming the United Nations and its officials is simply to divert international attention from the heinous crimes and ongoing genocide of this apartheid regime against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
