Security Council statement on mass graves in the Gaza Strip

Friday’s Security Council statement said that its members expressed their deep concern over reports of the discovery of mass graves in and around Nasser Hospitals and Shafa Medical Complex in the Gaza Strip, where Several hundreds of bodies, including women, children and the elderly, have been buried, they expressed and emphasized the need to hold the violators of international laws accountable.

In its statement, the Security Council also demanded that inspectors be allowed access to all the places of mass graves in the Gaza Strip to conduct an immediate, independent, comprehensive and impartial investigation into the conditions of these graves.

Based on this statement, the members of the Security Council reiterated their request that all parties should strictly adhere to their obligations under international law, including international humanitarian law and human rights, especially in The protection of civilians and civilian centers should be adhered to.
