According to this media, the festival staff announced the discovery of a suspicious package this Saturday afternoon, after which the entrance doors of the Cannes Film Festival Palace were closed.
Security and police forces were immediately deployed at the scene of the incident and prevented pedestrians from crossing in any direction.
Then the inspection of the backpack-like package in the middle of the crossing began by a group of specialist officers.
Security checks in Cannes remain at a high level and participants must pass individually through a new transparent gate.
Some participants of the festival announced that the security measures have slowed down the entrance to the venue and they have to wait in line for up to 20 minutes.
