China’s military has begun “punishment of separatists” drills around Taiwan

Chinese media announced that the country's armed forces began a large-scale military exercise around the island of Taiwan on Thursday.

reported by Mehr News Agency, citing CNN, the Chinese media announced by publishing images that the country’s armed forces started the large two-day exercise “Joint Sword-2024”; The exercise, which, according to the spokesperson of the Chinese army, is “a strong punishment for the separatist actions of Taiwan’s separatist forces.”

The naval, air, and missile forces of the Chinese army are participating in this big exercise.

As part of the exercise, dozens of Chinese warplanes carrying live ammunition, along with destroyers, frigates and fast missile boats, carried out mock attacks against “military targets,” according to China’s state television channel CCTV. They did “enemy” with value.

This big exercise of the Chinese army, which started today on Thursday and practice the encirclement of Taiwan, takes place three days after the inauguration ceremony of the elected president of Taiwan, Lai Ching-te.

Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense claimed last week that after US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken left China and returned to Washington, Beijing resumed its military movements around the island of Taiwan.

According to the Ministry of Defense of Taiwan, today China has been operating around the Taiwan Strait with 22 military planes, including Sukhoi-30 fighters, and 12 of these fighters have also crossed the “middle line”.

This hypothetical line was once considered an unofficial border between China and Taiwan, which neither side had the right to cross, but the Chinese Air Force, referring to the provocative actions of Taiwanese separatists, has intensified military traffic through this area. Is. China has emphasized that it does not recognize this hypothetical line.

Although America does not have official diplomatic relations with the island of Taiwan, it is considered the biggest and most important international supporter of this island. While visiting China, without mentioning the arms exchange between Washington and Taiwan, Blinken claimed that maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait is of “vital importance”!

China considers the island of Taiwan a part of its territory and considers any high-level political relations of other countries with this autonomous island, especially the sale of weapons from Washington to it, as a violation of the “one China” principle. “Lai Ching-te”, the newly elected president of the island of Taiwan, won the election on May 20. Beijing has described this person as a separatist and dangerous element.
