According to Webangah News quoted by Tasnim News agency, Al-Azhar University in Egypt made a statement about the decision of the three European countries Norway , Ireland and Spain for recognizing the state of Palestine.
Al-Azhar has stated in this statement that the recognition of the state of Palestine is a brave act that upholds the right of the Palestinian nation as the main owners of this land to live together with It recognizes peace and tranquility in it, and in addition, it recognizes the Palestinian nation’s legitimate right to independence and freedom and to live in security in its own land like other nations.
Two days ago, Foreign Minister Michael Martin Ireland announced: “When we recognize a country, we recognize it in terms of a permanent population and definite borders, and in this case it is based on the borders of 1967.” He emphasized with Al Jazeera that we decided to recognize the state of Palestine for reasons including support for the two-state solution.
Michael Martin emphasized that political negotiations should be started and everyone should work to find a solution to end the war in Gaza.
Martin said that the recognition of the Palestinian state was an important matter, especially since the Netanyahu government has taken steps to destroy the two-state solution.
