Orban: It is not logical that Russia can swallow the West
Hungary's prime minister says that fears of a possible Russian attack on NATO countries are unfounded and that Brussels is planning an attack on Moscow. |
According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Tass, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán pointed out that the war in Ukraine, which is now in its third year, has shown the limits of Russia’s capabilities, the possibility that “the whole of Russia “To swallow the West” is impossible.
Despite being a member of NATO and the European Union, Hungary has always refused to provide weapons and military aid to Ukraine since the start of the Ukrainian war in February 2022. Budapest is also seeking to withdraw from NATO’s long-term aid program for Ukraine, which Hungary’s foreign minister has called a “crazy mission”.
Orban, who has been in power since 2010, based his campaign agenda for next month’s European Parliament elections on avoiding wider and deeper intervention in the Ukraine war. and said that voting will determine the path of war and peace in Europe.
He said: The Russian army is in a serious and difficult war with the Ukrainians. If Russia was strong enough to crush Ukraine in the blink of an eye, it would have done so by now.
The Prime Minister of Hungary added: NATO’s military capability is much greater than that of Ukraine, and as a result, an attack by Russia or any other country on NATO is unlikely. I believe that Russia, which is not able to defeat Ukraine, would come at once and swallow the whole Western world, it is illogical. The probability of such an event is very, very small.
According to Orban, the West’s claim about the threat from Russia is the prelude to more Western involvement in the Ukraine war.
