Schultz: NATO will never go to war with Russia
Germany's chancellor says the country will continue to provide military and civilian aid to Ukraine, but will refrain from doing anything that would put Berlin at risk of direct confrontation with Moscow. |
report Mehr News Agency, quoted by Rashatodi, the chancellor of Germany, Olaf Schultz, in response to an article published in the Economist yesterday, said that Germany’s position on sending aid to Ukraine is clear and that these aids will continue. It continues, but Berlin will never put itself in a position of direct confrontation with Russia.
Schultz’s position is very different from the position of French President Emmanuel Macron, who still considers the option of sending troops from NATO to Ukraine possible.
Schultz emphasized: We must be absolutely clear about the fact that NATO is not looking for a confrontation with Russia. And we will not do anything to make Berlin a direct side of this war.
Both Schultz and Macron blame Russia for the current war, but they have different approaches about how their respective countries intervened in this war. For example, Macron agreed to send the medium-range “Scalp” missile to Kiev, but Schultz refused to do the same.
Schultz also claimed, referring to the increase in military spending and the emerging desire of his country to deploy soldiers outside Germany’s borders, specifically in Lithuania (near the border of Belarus). : Unlike Adolf Hitler, this time the German forces will be deployed for peace, defense of freedom and stopping an imperialist aggressor!
