According to the regional office Tasnim News, the government of Pakistan, by tightening the rules of transit trade with Afghanistan, has decided that from now on goods will be transported with Afghanistan only through routes that have been previously agreed upon and Registration of vehicles carrying Afghan commercial goods is also required to receive a “temporary entry permit”.

Confirmed by the vehicle owner’s electronic national card, vehicle registration book, technical examination certificate and declaration of responsibility for the safe transportation of imported and exported goods under transit trade.

The report also adds that the temporary entry permit has a date of issuance and expiration, and it should be extended to the transport department of the relevant country.

Pakistan’s decision to tighten transit laws with Afghanistan comes at a time when, due to recent tensions, Pakistan’s trade with Afghanistan has dropped to its lowest level in years.
