At the beginning of May, a German media revealed the details of the failed agreement between Russia and Ukraine. The German newspaper Die Welt announced in a report that Russia and Ukraine were close to a peace agreement in the spring of 2022. In that agreement, Kiev was ready to commit to neutrality. However, Moscow’s insistence on Ukraine making Russian its second official language was one of the obstacles.

Citing a 17-page document dated April 15, 2022, the German newspaper claimed that an agreement had been reached between Moscow and Kiev and that any dispute The rest will be discussed in the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart.

According to this German media, according to the provisions of this agreement, Ukraine was committed to permanent neutrality and agreed not to allow foreign weapons and forces to enter this country. . In return, Russia would pledge not to attack Ukraine again, and Kiev could receive security guarantees from the United States, England, France and China.
