He also added: “Now is the most difficult time for Kiev since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine.”
In an interview with the Economist newspaper, Stoltenberg previously asked NATO member countries to cancel the restrictions imposed on the use of weapons sent to Ukraine in an attack on Russian territory.
These statements of the NATO Secretary General are made while German Chancellor Olaf Schultz announced on Sunday that Berlin is against Ukraine’s attack on Russian territory with Western weapons. The German chancellor said in this regard that he is against giving Ukraine the opportunity to attack Russian territory with western weapons.
Shultz further added: Weapons received from Western allies should not be used to attack Russia. There are clear rules for the use of weapons provided by Berlin, which have been agreed with the Ukrainian authorities.
He also said: At least this is my position. Berlin’s goal in this situation is to prevent the current conflict from turning into a world war and not to contribute to the escalation of tension.
