The reaction of the former spokesperson of the National Security Council Secretariat to the preacher’s statements

Mahmoud Vaezi, the head of the president’s office in the 12th government, in a conversation with the “Etimad” newspaper, claimed Shamkhani’s role in the failure of the JCPOA negotiations and said: “If the secretariat (Council) National Security Council) was aligned, the JCPOA issue could be resolved. 

In a part of this conversation, he stated: “At the end of the 12th government, the line of the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council during the Shamkhani period was not to revive the JCPOA; If the secretariat was aligned, it would have been restored at the same time. The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council and the President of the Supreme National Security Council must be able to exchange opinions and work closely with each other; But a strange thing had happened in the same atmosphere that you drew towards the government from the opposition, radio and television and some institutions. Gradually, some people and the secretary in the secretariat adopted other methods. For example, some followed policies that were not even discussed in the council meeting. 

Vaazi also said in his speech: They had created a media and put some content in it, and when we spoke, they said that this media is not the secretariat and that the media is one of the people. That works here. Whether inside or outside, when they understand that many newspapers and other media and even radio stations do not have information, but this media has and is working on it, then it is clear that it has a win. Finally, some work was done on this account. 

He pointed out that they had a line in relation to the JCPOA that the JCPOA would not happen, and said: “They didn’t say it in practice, but the behavior was the same.” 

Vaazi also mentioned the detailed meeting with Shamkhani in this regard and said: I told him that the interests of the country lie in a clear and transparent relationship between the secretary and the president. Yes, but it didn’t happen and it didn’t happen until the last day. He said I accept. They agreed in speech, but in practice it was something else. 

Vaazi’s statement was accompanied by the reaction of Kivan Khosravi, the former spokesperson of the Supreme National Security Council Secretariat, who called these statements to pursue political and factional goals and stated that the roles and the betrayals will be revealed.

Khosravi, referring to Vaezi’s statements about Shamkhani, stated that the use of national security issues to pursue political and factional goals is contrary to principles. It is considered professional and contrary to national interests. 

The former spokesperson of the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council also stated that in order to respond to this kind of content that Vaezhi has expressed, it requires the disclosure of issues that are related to national security. At the moment, it is not possible to explain it.
