New European sanctions against Iran; The Minister of Defense is on the sanctions list

The Council of the European Union put 6 Iranian individuals and 3 institutions on its list of sanctions for what it described as Iran's assistance to Russia in the Ukraine war.

According to the international group Tasnim News Agency, the Council of the European Union has sanctioned 6 individuals and three Iranian entities. On the pretext of what it called helping Russia in the war in Ukraine, it has put it in its list of sanctions. 

The Council of the European Union claimed in its statement that the Council will take restrictive measures against all those who undermine peace in the world. 

The list of sanctions includes: Khatam al-Anbia base and one of the commanders of this base, Kavan Electronics Company Behrad along with its CEO and chairman of the board of directors and the navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

In the statement of the Council of the European Union, Mohammad Reza Qaraei Ashtiani, the Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic, one of the commanders of the IRGC’s Quds Force, and Afshin Khajifard, the head of Iran’s aviation industry, have also been included in the sanctions list of the Council of the European Union. 

According to this statement, the assets of the people who have been sanctioned will be blocked and they will be banned from traveling to the European Union.

These sanctions are supposed to be applied under the pretext of sending Iranian drones to Russia and This is while Iran has repeatedly denied the claim of sending drones to Russia for use in war.
