“Zamir Kabulov”, head of the Second Asian Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry and Putin’s special representative for Afghanistan, stated that the complete control of the Taliban over Afghanistan is relevant for Moscow, because it will prevent the disintegration of this country and its consequences for the region.
Kabulov said in a conversation with “Russia 24”: We believe that the Taliban government has continuous control over the country. This is fundamentally important to us, because any disintegration of Afghanistan will have the most negative consequences throughout the region.
Russia mentioned with Afghanistan in the fields of export of oil products and food security. Kabulov added: Food security is also a debatable issue for Taliban officials in order to increase Cooperation and guarantee of food supply is needed.
