Hakan Fidan further added: We will once again announce together in Istanbul (the D-8 member countries) to the whole world that we have not and will not remain silent in the face of Israel’s oppression in Gaza. We can be silent.

He said: The fact that the people of the West, unlike the governments, rose up against Israel’s brutality allows us to look to the future with hope. Israel is increasingly isolated. As member countries of the D-8 group, we are determined to act together. Not only in economic cooperation, but also in the case of Palestine.

Fidan said: We don’t expect a solution from others, we hold a meeting for a solution, consult together and move forward together. The concrete steps included in the joint statement will increase the pressure on Israel and help the freedom of our Palestinian brothers.
